David Fischer You know, I hate cockroaches but they're also kinda admirable. First, they're basically 99% protein and 1% disgust. Furthermore, you can only kill them in like 9000 degrees (celsius) hot firestorms. Basically, they're like vampires.
What I hate even more, are human cockroaches - so, most humans, essentially. But I do love this Blattaria record - melodic, dissonant, fast, panicking, hectic, cold black metal. As if one was being infested by cockroaches and devoured from the inside out. Beautiful. Favorite track: They Seek Power.

Ippocalyptica Excellent black metal that is dissonant, frantic, and legitimately unsettling. They Seek Power is a harrowing experience most definitely not for the faint of heart, conjuring up Thantifaxath-like unease from start to finish. The tortured vocals sound as though they are being channeled directly from the lowest circles of Hell, the drumming is among the most inspired of the year, and the riffing is tight as fuck and endlessly weaving. This could well be my black metal EP of 2021! Favorite track: They Seek Power.
