Woah. This is some seriously intense blackened psychedelia. Really does create ripples and eddies in your peripheral vision...well, and the centre of it too. Kaleidoscopic.

Nightmare tumbling through unfettered kaleidoscope dreamscapes, slashed by a thousand knives as the rivers of blood raining from your wounds crystallize into whirling spiral galaxies around your flailing form. Vocals like a man being torn apart and reassembled incorrectly in an infinite loop.
By the end of 2019, Serpent Column might be the talk of the town in black metal circles, based on the strength of Ornuthi Thalassa, the Invicta EP, and the upcoming Mirror in Darkness (the two preview tracks of which are fucking insane). This is technical, fast, and dissonant black metal that draws inspiration from Deathspell Omega but is more riff-oriented, at times reminding me of the melodic mastery displayed by Ayloss of Spectral Lore. High praise indeed, but Serpent Column warrant it! Ippocalyptica
"Curse These Metal Hands" parlays the UK bands' chemistry into a record which—for all its tinnitus-inducing ferocity and elegiac arrangements—practically drips with transcendent joy. Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 18, 2019
